An aerospace vendor is planning to complete a virtual model of its new plant, complete with machines and moving parts, before beginning construction on the real version. MSM is hoping to identify operational and logistic problems before they occur, and to maximize layout and design efficiency. MSM will be using Siemen’s software to design the new plant, and will gather much data to analyze for their strategy. MSM’s managing director credited the Made Smarter funding for the company’s investment in technology.
- Digital Twin Technology starts by virtually reconstructing and optimizing a space without extensive upfront costs
- Made Smarter funding and investments changed the entire future of this company by taking money out of the equation
- Planning for future additions needs to account for another potential surge in growth across the company as a whole
“This pairing of the virtual and physical worlds will give MSM valuable analysis of data and monitoring of systems to manage problems before they even occur, prevent downtime, and even plan for the future by using simulations.”
