The Challenges of Smart Manufacturing | ManufacturingTomorrow

Now that we have massive amounts of data to use, it is becoming more common to experiment and use AI with manufacturing. Using this data we are able to now use automation more than ever. As we move more towards automation, production rates and efficiency will skyrocket. There are some problems that we will come across. One of those things is loss of human jobs. • Earlier industry iterations, specifically industry 1.0 and 2.0, cover the eras of mechanization and steam power, followed by the advent of electrical power.
  • Every iteration of industry has included data of some type. Yet with industry 4.0 manufacturing has a way to be more cost-efficient than ever before.

“having access to raw data and knowing what to do with it are at completely different ends of the digitalization spectrum.”
