It seems that the future of transportation has a solid place for electric vehicles, and this trend cannot be reversed. For the true success of this initiative and full adoption, it is critical to include American workforce in the auto industry be part of the strategic plan. There is a tremendous potential in having most of the components and assembly built in the US, and recent supply chain issues only emphasized the benefit. However, federal agencies need to include manufacturing representatives in discussions regarding electric vehicles and relevant technologies, in order to utilize that potential.
